The
meaning of Lomani is simply In Love
in Fijian. We created Lomani for others to enjoy our initial
Fijian experience.
We
discovered this piece of paradise whilst on our honeymoon
in 2006. We enjoyed a few days at Anthony Robbins Resort
Namale on Vanua Levu (the island seen across
the Somosomo Straits from Lomani). We then travelled to
Taveuni to enjoy a private property in contrast to a resort.
It
was here that we discovered the opportunity to create Lomani.
We
have styled Lomani on what we would look for in a private
property, that is privacy, luxury, ambience, space and charm.
Furthermore, achieving the balance between enjoying a unique
natural experience and yet not wanting for anything at all.
Our
dream was created with you in mind.
You
will find Lomani truly is a unique romantic paradise.
We
hope you enjoy an enchanting and memorable stay at Lomani.
Facilities
Lomani is set on two acres of beautiful gardens and is a
luxurious cottage offering one bedroom with a four poster
king size bed (covered by a mosquito net). Leading from
the bedroom is a bathroom, toilet and outdoor double headed
stone shower.
The
bedroom also leads on to a living area with all modern conveniences,
ie TV, DVD, stereo and a range of games, books, DVD movies
and music.
Both
the bedroom and living area lead onto a spacious deck which
extends along the front of the cottage and offers magnificent
views out across the Somosomo Straits.
There
is a large kitchen which provides views over the Somosomo
Straits to the east and south east and opens up onto the
deck overlooking the infinity edge pool. The kitchen has
a dining area and is fully equipped with all cooking and
eating utensils including rice cooker, wok, blender, fruit
juice maker and BBQ on the deck.
The
bedroom, kitchen and living room all have ceiling fans and
multiple louvred windows and louvred doors all of which
have fly wire cover.
The
cottage is furnished in traditional locally made Fijian
furniture.
The
swimming pool is 3 x 4 mts and is at the corner of the deck
with infinity edges overlooking the water.
All
linen and towels are provided.
There
is a second bathroom at the rear of the kitchen which also
has a washing machine for your use during your stay.
There
is also a outdoor pergolah area at the rear of the living
room.
The
cottage is solely powered by solar power including the pool
pump (with a generator back up in the event of emergency).
There are power points in all rooms and power is available
24 hours a day.
Fresh
water is provided from a nearby artesian spring and is suitable
for drinking.
Activities
2 Bicycles provided with helmets, Kayaking, Horseback Riding,
Scuba Diving, Swimming, Bird Watching, Fishing, Glass Bottom
Electric Crafts, Golf, Hiking, Massage, Picnic Spots, Surfing,
Tennis, Snorkeling and Waitavala Watersilde. There are also

There
are three major, distinct diving areas around the island.
To the north of Taveuni lie in close proximity the islands
of Qamea and Matagi with their surrounding reef systems.
The Rainbow Reef and Vuna Reef are famous for diving and
snorkeling, respectively. The Rainbow Reef, on the western
side in the narrow strait between Taveuni and Vanua Levu
(ie in front of Lomani!), are known as one of the world's
premier soft coral dive areas. The horseshoe shaped Vuna
Lagoon, near the southern end of the island, is much appreciated
among divers for the opportunity to see larger pelagic and
schooling fish species on the exposed southern side of the
reef, whereas the sheltered western parts provide pristine
soft and hard coral gardens.
Some of the more popular dives at the Rainbow Reef in front
of Lomani include the Great White Wall and Little White
Wall, named for their luminescent white coral; Rainbows
End, with an incredible gardens of multi-colored soft corals;
and 3 Bommies, made up of three giant coral towers or "bommies"
that rise up from
the sea floor to within 12 meters of the surface.
As you would expect, there are a number of certified dive
operators on Taveuni catering to beginners through experienced
professionals.
Restaurants
There are a range of restaurants available at Matei Point
and also in Somosomo/Naqara.
The food offered includes local Fijian, European, Pizza,
Indian amongst others.
