Manta Ray is a environmental resort catering from the
young to the older travellers. Situated on its own Island
in the Yasawa Island chain north west of the main Island of
Viti Levu. The island thrives around great reefs and water
sports to go with it and for half the year is a mecca for
the Migrating Manta Rays that inhabit the channels around
the resort. Different styles of accomodation is avaiable from
Dormitory to shared private rooms through to ensuited bures
to fit everyones budget.
Whether
you want to unwind in a hammock with a refreshing tropical
drink, explore the marine reserve located directly off the
beach, or visit the local village, our Fijian resort offers
the perfect combination. We boast some of the best snorkelling
and sea kayaking Fiji has to offer, and with over 40 dives
sites within 25 minutes of the resort, the Mantaray Dive team
will guide you through one of the world’s most pristine
tropical marine environments.

Island Resort offers a range of accommodation to suit travellers
on all budgets. At Mantaray we don't focus on all the knobs,
bells and whistles. You won't find cable TV, DVD players or
wireless hotspots in the rooms, our focus is to provide you
with clean, tidy, comfortable accommodation at an affordable
rate.

bures line the shoreline sending you off to sleep each night
with the gentle rhythm of the waves. Only steps away from
the beach, each bure is built to let in the cool Sea breezes
and is fitted with open plantation shutters to let sunlight
filter in.

Perfect for the budget traveller our Paradise Dorm features
32 beds divided in to four bed cubicles. Built off the ground
on stilts, the large opening windows, doors and ceiling fans
ensure there is a constant refreshing cool sea breeze flowing
through.
Entertainment
After
a busy day swimming, snorkelling, diving, vollyballing or
simply relaxing, ease your way into the evenings festivities
with a refreshing tropical happy cocktail. After dinner the
tables are cleared and the fun begins. Crab racing, limbo
competitions, cultural entertainment and beach parties are
just some of the fun you can expect at Mantaray.

Dining
At Mantaray Island the coconuts are plentiful and in season,
so are guavas, pineapples, mangoes and other fresh fruits.
We use only the freshest ingredients and feature fresh locally
caught fish and fresh seasonal tropical fruit.
All
our meals are prepared by an executive chef and include a
range of European, Fijian and Indian dishes. We offer a wide
range of vegetarian dishes and can cater to any special dietary
requirement on request.
Breakfasts
include cereals, toast, fruit and pancakes. Cooked breakfasts
are available for purchase from the menu.
Lunches
and dinners vary between buffet and set menu.
Diving
at Mantaray
Stunning
coral gardens, spectacular swim throughs, amazing reef walls
and over a thousand species of marine life are just some of
the things you're likely to experience diving in the Yasawa's.
Mantaray
Island Resort is located 70km from the mainland and is the
only dive operator in the Naviti group of the Yasawa's. Over
40 dive sites are accessible within 20 minutes cruising from
the resort. Having such a large variety of dives sites ensure
divers are able to continue to enjoy pristine marine environments
with very little or no impact from other divers.
Whether
you are a complete novice , or looking to complete an instructors
qualification, we'll ensure you enjoy your diving in a safe
and comfortable environment.
With
all the dive sites here off Mantaray Island Resort, there's
plenty for every level of ability, certification and experience.
Whether you've done 600 dives or have just passed your Open
Water Course, there's plenty for you to choose from and it
doesn’t matter if you’re an early bird, a late riser,
or a night owl - we're ready for you whenever you want to
hit the water! We do a single or two tank dive in the morning,
an additional afternoon dive(s) if required, and night dives
are available on request. All dives are guided by a local
diver to navigate you through the dive site, pointing out
creatures or items of interest. If you haven't dived in a
while, or still feel a little inexperienced you may want to
consider doing a beach dive and/or, having an Instructor with
you to ease yourself back in. We can update your skills, and
do a short refresher to bring you back up to date.
As many as 7,000 different fish species live on coral reefs
or nearby inshore habitats, with up to maybe 300 different
types inhabiting a small plot of reef. Fiji also has a couple
of residents unique only to Fiji, including the Bicolour Rabbitfish,
and Black Rabbitfish with gentle eyes but sharp dorsal spines
it can raise if threatened. This Rabbitfish has a yellow tail
and is rarely seen out of a pair.
The
Yasawa group of islands has fewer crowds and fewer dive boats.
This chain of ancient volcanic islands offers excellent corals,
pristine reefs and good visibility, not to mention some superb
topside backdrops.

Mantaray
offers daily 1 and 2 tank dives, night dives and dive classes
including Introductory Dives, Advanced, Stress and Rescue
